HS Young Horse Autumn Event

Hardy Stud has decided to launch our first international competition!
Ever hesitated to enter your young 3 year old in a competition after seeing what other experienced horses it's going up against? No matter how much innate talent your young'n has, there's no way he's going to win against a 12 y/o grand prix dressage gelding, right?
This is why we are dedicating this show to all the young, beginner horses out there, in hopes that this will successfully further the careers of some future stars.

Hardy Stud

Hardy Stud is situated in the beautiful Norwegian countryside, and only about 10 kilometers from the ocean.
The region is quite mountainous, allowing the fresh ice water streams to run right into small lakes in the luscious fir forests surrounding our Equestrian Center.

Lay of the Land:
300 aceres
30 stalls
6 large pastures for the mares and geldings
2 smaller pastures for the stallions
5 paddocks
1 large indoor arena (a must in this tough climate)
1 very large outdoor jumping arena. Surface is grass.
1 20x40m outdoor dressage arena. Surface is light colored sand.
1 40x90 large outdoor all purpose arena. Will be used as the training/warm up arena.

Classes

Dressage
8:00 - 12:00
sparsly clouded, sun poking through

Based on FEI rules and regulations.
Up to intermediate level.

You may make up your own dressage test. However make sure that it is made up of collected, working, and extended gaits, as well as a square halt at the beginning and ending of your performance.
We do not wish to see higher level movements such as the piaffe, passage and lateral movements. If your horse can do this he is not a beginner and probably isn't meant for this show.

Gambler's Choice Jumping
12:00 - 16:00
sunny

Jumps are up to 3'6" or 110cm in height, and 4'0" or 120cm in spread.
Verticals, oxers, triple bars, cross polls, double combinations, and a small liverpool jump are present.

"Gambler's choice - An event where exhibitors choose their own course, with each fence cleared worth a given amount of points based on difficulty. The entry who accumulates the most points within a set time limit on course is the winner."

Though the jumps are relatively small, your horse will be put to the test in Gamblers. You will have to be able to control your horse at a quick speed and taking sharp turns in order to get the shortest time.

If you don't feel your horse is ready for this just yet, you may just want to use this as a practice event. In which you can freely use the jumps, make up your own course fitted best to your horse, and give it a whirl. Do what you wish.

Halter
16:00 - 20:00
sunny while the sun is still up
note that the sun sets around 18:00 in Norway
the location will be lit up by lamp posts

Your horse will be graded on his conformation and movement.
Simply walk your horse up and down the street, do it again in trot, then have your horse halt in front of the judges while they assess your horse's build.

Judging

This show will be solely based on your effort.

● Effort compared to your gallery (1-10 points)
● Creativity (1-10 points)
● Shading (1-5 points)
● Pose (1-5 points)
● Autumn 'Feel' (1-5 points)
